Three-year Development Plan
The following represents the Board's next three-year development plan as revised in Spring 2007:
- Fish Processing Dock Revitalization
- Implement short term management guidelines to protect people and facilities.
- Identify funding for a phased repair or reconstruction solution.
- Complete the project within 3 years, the expected remaining life of the dock.
- Multi-purpose Dock Construction
- Finalize a phased project concept.
- Seek private sector support for dock utilization including barges, water tankers and cruise ships.
- Marine Industries
- Complete a market study to determine the need for marine industries development at the Industrial Park.
- Site Improvements
- Prioritize the funding of a new plat, road paving, landscaping, security, Boat Company property acquisition, dock(s) demolition, and cove dredging or filling.
- Bulk Water
- Continue to market bulk water focusing on recent improvements such as the bulk water pipeline.
- Facilitate the startup of the TAB bulk water operation by supporting TAB’s applications for permits.
- Administration Building
- Establish a published lease schedule for the building.
- Increase local marketing efforts to attract tenants.
- Stores Building
- Identify the appropriate parcel of land to service the future users of the building.
- Recommend to the Assembly that the City market the Stores Building for sale.
- Herring Cove
- Continue to promote Herring Cove as a site for a future harbor.
- Evaluate mixed-uses for the site including house boats, yachts, and bear hunting boats.
